According to air pollution laws and regulations, no off-gas is allowed to emit into the air before treated. The off-gas emitted by the cleaning machine is hot and contains organic and inorganic substances. Therefore, the off-gas can pollute air, so we recommend installing an afterburner for health and safety reasons. The afterburner consists of a combustion chamber and a cooling tower. The main contaminants it contains are malodourous carbon compounds.

An exhaust blower installed behind the afterburner exhausts the off-gas from the retort into the combustion chamber. The off-gas is, therefore, heated using a constant flame of an afterburner at 800°C~1100°C to ensure it is cracked completely. Organic substances are also eliminated in this manner. This off-gas is very hot and dangerous to operators, and is, therefore, cooled with water in a cooling tower. Under regulation, the temperature of emitted off-gas is around 70°C and safe to the operator.

The treated off-gas can be safely emitted into the atmosphere in compliance with air-pollution law and regulations. The afterburner has some safety equipment. During the operation, if the cooling water is stopped, the flow switch makes the system stop immediately. Also if the fuel gas is stopped, the gas pressure switch makes the system stop. Due to the over weight of polymer, if the combustion chamber temperature shall be over 1100°C, the system will be stopped immediately. The afterburner model is selected by polymer weight. The polymer weight makes the influence to dwell time passing the combustion chamber and to combustion capacity of gas burner system.
